Speakers' Corner

On behalf of the AIHA® and ACGIH, we thank you for agreeing to actively participate in AIHce 2010. Please take a moment to read through the guidelines and suggestions provided here to help you prepare and deliver a solid, visually stimulating, and informative presentation.

The following information can be found here:

  • Rules of participation in the conference
  • Guidelines for slide preparation and course handout production
  • Tips for delivering successful courses and presentations
  • Important forms
  • Contact information of key staff

Conference information is continually updated, so check back frequently.

PDC Auditors

PDC auditors make recommendations on the technical and educational aspects of PDCs. Feedback helps gauge satisfaction and improves courses for the future.

If you are signed up to audit a PDC and missed the conference call, listen to the recording here or view the slides here.

PDC Instructors

Notification letters were mailed in September 2009:

  • Instructors are required to bring personal laptops to their PDC.
  • All AV and rooms set-up information should be detailed on the PDC logistics forms.

If you are unable to present your course, contact Jessica Pagel, AIHA®’s Continuing Education Coordinator, at 703-846-0751.

Speaker Ready Room check-in is mandatory

  • Check for messages, program changes, and other information posted in the Speaker Ready Room.
  • Poster presenters must check in and obtain a set-up pass before setting up their poster.
  • Technical session presenters
    • Must check in 30 to 60 minutes prior to the start of their full session (not just their individual presentation).
    • Should test their presentation(s) to ensure they are compatible with the audiovisual and computer equipment provided in the technical presentation rooms. Workstations and projectors will be available for practice, and staff will be available to provide technical assistance and answer questions.
    • May use their personal laptops to review slides and practice in the Speaker Ready Room, but not in the technical session presentation rooms.
    • Should receive microphone training in the Speaker Ready Room prior to their session(s).
    • Must confirm online that recording permissions have been given or declined. If this has not been done, speakers should discuss this with the staff in the Speaker Ready Room.
